Processing a Translation
You can substantially contribute to the successful and cost efficient processing of your translation by defining some basic data before placing the order:
- What category of text is involved?
- Which readership is being addressed?
- Is the whole text to be translated or only parts of it?
- Is the text available in its final version?
Please note: any subsequent amendment to texts already translated, can lead to delays and incur extra costs. - In which time-frame do you require
the translation to be completed?
Allow for sufficient time – express orders often mean higher tariffs. And as a rule: translations are not off-the-peg wares. Quality takes time. - By which means and in which format are the text and its translation to be delivered?
- Can you supply reference documents, such as brochures, old handbooks or similar literature?
- When can the translator expect all the necessary information and documentation?
- Do you wish to have the documents returned to you?
- Is any terminology available from prior translations?
- Is company specific vocabulary to be used? And if yes, which?
- Are further services required, such as: specific formatting, terminology research or the likes?
- Who
has been assigned as contact person, in case of enquiries?
